Backyard Birding

Bird photography is a beast of a craft, one I find enchanting to view, but haven’t personally pursued (needed: looong lens and even longer patience).

However… when this yellow-crowned night heron chose the pine above my driveway, I grabbed my 135mm lens and paid him a visit. This was at sunset, just in time for his evening stroll. 

I love spotting him around the neighborhood! I wonder if he’s the same one who recently surveyed B’s driving practice from above the school parking lot at dusk.
