Annika & Kristopher’s First Communion

Annika and Kristopher met me at the Arboretum, literally on their way to mass for First Communion. It was such an honor to photograph them on this sacred day!

Usually, my top priorities are: 1) my subject’s comfort and confidence, and 2) finding the loveliest light. This time, my top priorities were 1) minding the dress, and 2) minding the heirloom veil!

While I usually favor a bright and vivid edit, this forested scene inclined to process with a softer approach. Can you sense the difference? What do you prefer?
